Carnelian Armour

Carnelian is a variety of chalcedony — a microcrystalline quartz — formed through silica-rich mineral deposits over time. Unlike agate, which is defined by its visible banding, carnelian is typically more uniform in tone, offering a rich, saturated expression of color rather than layered pattern.

This variety features a vibrant orange-red hue, long associated with vitality, movement, and creative force. Across cultures, carnelian has been used as a stone of courage, expression, and action — supporting a grounded sense of confidence while encouraging forward momentum.

Where agate stabilizes through structure and layering, carnelian activates through warmth and presence. It is often chosen during periods of creation, transition, or when reconnecting to one’s inner drive.

This Carnelian Armour features a natural pendant measuring approximately 2.5 x 1 inches, each piece carrying its own subtle variation in tone and translucency. While more uniform than agate, no two stones are ever identical. You will receive one in the likeness of the one in the photo. 

The pendant is set on our medium oval link chain, crafted in natural brass and treated to be tarnish resistant, offering both durability and warmth in finish.

Care & Wear

Carnelian is a durable variety of chalcedony suitable for regular wear. To preserve both stone and brass components, avoid prolonged exposure to water, perfumes, or lotions. Brass may develop a soft natural patina over time and can be gently polished if desired.

Length is measured by opening the necklace from clasp to loop. Using a string against the body can help approximate where the piece will rest when worn.
