Each necklace is built around a one-of-a-kind Pyrite Sun disc, making every piece entirely unique in its size, radial crystal pattern, and metallic luster.

Pyrite Suns are among the most unusual mineral formations in North America. Despite their name, they are technically marcasite, a close relative of pyrite with the same iron sulfide composition but a different crystal structure. They formed roughly 300 million years ago within shale deposits in southern Illinois. As the mineral crystallized within flat seams of sediment, it grew outward in a radial formation, creating perfectly circular discs that resemble miniature suns.

When the surrounding shale splits open, the formation appears already complete — a naturally formed sunburst preserved in stone.

Because of this formation process, no two Pyrite Suns are ever the same. Each disc carries its own radial structure, texture, and metallic depth.
